🌈 Pride Month
Pride Month is observed every June to honor the LGBTQ+ community and commemorate the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in New York City—a pivotal event in the fight for LGBTQ+ rights in the United States. Over time, Pride has evolved into a global celebration of LGBTQ+ identities, culture, history, and achievements. For workplaces, Pride Month is a time to reflect on policies related to inclusion, ensure protections for LGBTQ+ employees are in place, and celebrate diversity within teams.
🧠 National PTSD Awareness Month
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Month highlights the realities of those living with PTSD, including veterans, survivors of trauma, and individuals affected by serious accidents or violence. PTSD is often misunderstood, particularly in workplace environments where mental health conversations are still developing. This month serves as a reminder for employers to consider the psychological well-being of their staff and to evaluate whether their benefits, policies, and management practices are sensitive to trauma-related needs.
🛡️ National Safety Month
Led by the National Safety Council, National Safety Month focuses on reducing the leading causes of injury and death in the workplace, on the road, and in homes and communities. For HR and leadership teams, it’s an opportunity to revisit safety protocols, ensure compliance with OSHA standards, and refresh training programs. The scope of safety includes physical environments as well as psychological safety, emphasizing the importance of a culture where employees feel safe to speak up, ask questions, and report concerns.

National Family Month begins on Mother’s Day and runs through Father’s Day. It encourages families to spend quality time together and reinforces the importance of a healthy work-life balance. In the context of employment, this observance prompts HR professionals to assess whether family-friendly policies such as parental leave, caregiving support, and flexible scheduling are accessible and effective. It's also a time to recognize the evolving definitions of family and the various caregiving roles employees may carry.

June 19 | Juneteenth | Commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. It’s a meaningful DEI observance and a time to support racial equity in the workplace. |
June 20 | Summer Solstice | The longest day of the year and start of summer. A natural point for mid-year reflection, planning, or employee engagement initiatives. |
June 20 | World Refugee Day | Honors the resilience of refugees worldwide. Relevant for companies focused on inclusive hiring, social impact, or community outreach. |
June 27 | National HIV Testing Day | Promotes HIV testing and destigmatizing conversations around sexual health. A useful reminder for inclusive and preventive health programs. |
